The file skeygen.com that is on this site does not work. Can I use any hex editor to male a system key from a system I.D.?i do not know alot about how it works.
I do have four system key that were given to me. But I no longer have access to the generator.

Greeting friend, .key files are files used to program trunk systems. This program does is generate the file later to integrate the cps . You can work it with WIN98 in MSDOS and WIN XP

I cant speak specificly on the posted version, but a good copy will work.
There is (was?) instructions posted in a forum on how to create a key from a look up table posted on one of the 2 way sites. Try batlabs or radio reference.
It was a bit difficult to follow until you got the jest of it,but after that it was pretty easy.
Post more info on you issue and maybe someone can assist in resolving it.

Need Make, model, band, programming software you have, some info on the system you are referring to.
I dont mean to sound condescending, but if you are struggling with this, you are not ready to program units for a system.
Simply put, a system key is not used to access the system per se, it is to unlock the trunking features/fields in the CPS.
A number of other things must be correct to properly program a unit onto a system. If you are not the system owner/operator, you are setting yourself up for failure, may (likely) compromise the system as a whole due to improper setting in the unit's programing, and possibly endangering others.
Ask your system owner/operator to set up the units/assign ID's and other managerial duties as required. If you are an authorized user, that should be no issue for him(her).
Consider a decision to proceed on this venture very carefully. You could very well cause loss of life, limb and/or property if you are not 100% accurate in you programming process. Something to think about.
